Mamuka Shonia

Mamuka Shonia was appointed as Director of Technical Affairs at JSC Georgian State Electrosystem in 2025.
Mamuka has been working at Georgian State Electrosystem since the company's founding. He has many years of experience working in leadership positions at GSE. Over the last 10 years, he held the position of Head of the Projects Department. In different years, he served as Executive Project Manager, Head of Projects Service, Project Manager, Head of Funds Service, and other positions.
From 1992 to 2002, he worked at Sakmtavarenergo, Sakenergo, and Electrogadatsema, where during different periods he served as Deputy Head of the Capital Construction and Restoration-Reconstruction Division, Head of the same division, and Deputy Head of the Capital Construction Design and Expertise Department.
Mamuka graduated from Georgian Technical University with a qualification as an electrical engineer, as well as from the construction faculty with a specialty as a civil engineer.
In 2011, Mamuka was awarded the Order of Honor for his contribution to the construction of the Svaneti electricity transmission line.
