Jorg Matthies
Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Jorg Matthies was appointed as a Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC Georgian State Electrosystem in 2021.
Jorg has more than 25 years of top management experience. He has held senior positions in supervisory and executive boards in countries such as Georgia, Germany, Belgium, and Russia. His sector expertise comprises energy, utilities, consulting/engineering, mining, hospitality, real estate, logistics, wine and others.
He is the founder, owner and managing director of the Château Mosmieri Group. Since 2017 he has been co-owner and CEO of IM Engineering Eurasia. In 2019 - 2020, he held the position of CEO of Askangel Alliance Georgia. From 2015 to 2017 he served as CEO of Georgian Industrial Group and Georgian International Energy Corporation. Earlier, between 2009 and 2013 Jorg worked as CEO of GWP - Georgian Water and Power and as a member of the Board of Directors of GGU - Georgia Global Utilities.
Jorg Matthies studied Business Administration at the University of Warwick (UK). He was also awarded a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Arts degree in Economics by the University of St. Petersburg.
