Zurab Bekaia was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of JSC Georgian State Electrosystem in 2021.
Zurab has many years of experience in administrative, legal and diplomatic activities. From 2018 to present he is the Founder and Director of Agrifarming Ltd; He has been awarded the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Zurab participated in peacekeeping missions in different years: OSCE Kosovo Verification Mission; OSCE Mission in Kosovo. Within these missions he held the positions of Democratization Officer and Head of the Field Office.
In 2014-2018 he was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Slovenia. In 2013-2014 he held the position of Charge d'Affaires of Georgia in the Republic of Cyprus.
Zurab Bekaia has extensive experience in the field of energy: in 2010-2013 he was the head of Regulation, Environmental Protection and Customer Relations of JSC Energo-Pro Georgia. In 2007-2010 he held the position of head of the Legal Expertise Service of the same company; In 2005-2007 he was the head of the Legal Expertise Service of JSC United Distribution Energy Company of Georgia.
In 2002-2005, Zurab was a legal expert at the Georgian-European Policy and Legal Advice Center (GEPLAC). In 1994-2002 he held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, was an attaché at the Eastern Europe Division of the Department of Europe and the Americas; First Secretary of the Central and Eastern Europe Division of the Department of Europe and the Americas; Head of the Central and Eastern Europe Division of the Second European Department.
Zurab Bekaia graduated from Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of International Law and International Relations.
