Public hearings on the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Report (ESIA) for the Akhaltsikhe-Batumi 220 kV Power Transmission Line Construction Project

Please, be informed that Georgian State Electrosystemplansto arrange public hearings on the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Report (ESIA) for the Akhaltsikhe-Batumi 220 kV Power Transmission Line Construction Project in the municipalities of Akhaltsikhe, Adigeni, Khulo, Keda, Shuakhevi and Khelvachauri on 8-10 July, 2014.

The project implies the construction of 220 kV overhead power transmission line (OHL) to connect the existing substations of Akhaltsikhe and Batumi to strengthen the power transmission system in the south-west part of Georgia and connect the planned Adjaristsqali HPPs to the state grid. The OHL will cross the municipalities of Akhaltsikhe, Adigeni, Khulo, Keda, Shuakhevi and Khelvachauri. The public hearings will be held at:

  • Akhaltsikhe Municipality Gamgeoba Office (Address: 5, Kostava str., Akhaltsikhe) – July 8, 11:00 am
  • Adigeni Municipality Gamgeoba Office (Address: 5, Tamar Mephe str., Adigeni) – July 8, 15:00pm
  • Khulo Municipality Gamgeoba Office (Address: 1, Tbela Buseridze str., Daba Khulo) – July 9, 10:00am
  • Shuakhevi Municipality Gamgeoba Office (Address: 30, Tamar Mephe str., Daba Shuakhevi) – July 9, 13:00pm
  • Keda Municipality Gamgeoba Office (Address: 1, Kostava str, Daba Keda) – July 9, 16:00pm
  • Khelvachauri Municipality Gamgeoba Office (Address: 23, Didachara str, Batumi) – July 10, 10:00am.

The public hearings are open for all interested persons. The ESIA of the Akhaltsikhe-Batumi 220 kV OHL project is available at:
