World Bank Representatives Visit Georgian State Electrosystem
Within the framework of the World Bank mission's visit to Georgia, Giorgi Gigineishvili, GSE Director General met with Sudeshna Ghosh Banerjee, Practice Manager for Europe and Central Asia in the Energy, Joern Huenteler, the project team leader and other representatives of the World Bank.
During the meeting, they discussed the necessary measures for the implementation of the Black Sea submarine electric cable project connecting Georgia and Romania. Environmental and social impacts and the need for deep-water studies of the Black Sea bed were also discussed, an important factor in defining the project specification.
World Bank representatives also evaluated the progress and activities of the ongoing projects they support in the Georgian State Electrosystem and expressed their willingness and readiness to participate in future projects.
