Minister of Energy Mr. Kakha Kaladze visitied substation Rustavi-220 for the survey of the ongoing rehabilitation works
Vice-Prime Minister/Minister of Energy Mr. Kakha Kaladze and Chairman of Management Board of GSE Mr. Suklhan Zumburidze visited substation “Rustavi-220/110/10” on November 11, 2014 for the survey of the ongoing rehabilitation works there. The Substation rehabilitation project started in the second half of 2010. The primary devices on 220/110 KV side are fully rehabilitated. At this stage complete rehabilitation works of secondary switches, protection and control panels are currently ongoing at the substation. In the coming days the installation of new containers will be commenced in which state of art 10 KV devices and protection systems will be fully located. The rehabilitation project will be completed by 2015, after which the Substation will move to digital control system.
The installed capacity of the Substation is 425 MVA. The City Rustavi and its industrial facilities such as Ferroalloy Plant, Rustavi Azot, Metalurgical Factory and etc are supplied with electricity form Substation Rustavi-220. In addition, 220KV transmission line “Manavi” outcoming from Rustavi Substation provides electricity to Substation “Gurjaani-220”, which supplies the Kakheti Region with electricity.
