Georgian State Electrosystem Received a Grant of EUR 1 400 000 from the German Government

Chairman of the Management Board of GSE Sulkhan Zumburidze, Director of the South Caucasus Regional Office of German Development Bank (KfW) Hans Rieck and Sector Coordinator of South Caucasus Region Claus Vogel signed a financing agreement at the Head Office of Georgian State Electrosystem. Under the agreement, the German Government will award a grant of EUR 1 200 000 via the German Development Bank (KfW).

The agreement provides for the strengthening of 500/400 kV transmission line Tskaltubo-Akhaltsikhe-Tortum and Guria transmission infrastructure, also the preparation of a feasibility study of Northern Link TSKALTUBO.

In addition, the Feasibility Study of the North-South Energy Corridor Project was signed to finance consulting services. The grant amounts to EUR 200 000.

“Implementation of these projects will tie a strong energy knot, which will further enhance our country’s energy stability and sustainability. I would like to thank the German Government for the support of such important projects for our country”, – Sulkhan Zumburidze, Chairman of the Management Board of GSE stated.
