Ksani-500 substation Rehabilitation Project Completed
Grand ceremony dedicated to the completion of Ksani-500/220/110kV substation was held on September 7, 2016 in village Ksani. Kakha Kaladze, Vice-premier/Minister of Energy of Georgia made the opening speech on the ceremony. Speeches were also made by Sulkhan Zumburidze, Chairman of the Management Board of GSE, Yesim Elhan- Kayalar, Resident Representative of Asian Development Bank in Georgia and Gerd Pollhammer, representative of Siemens Austria.
“This substation is another step forward towards the membership of European energy family. Developed and stable power sector is the indicator of developed economy of Georgia. I thank all the people who were involved in this project implementation process from the start” – said Kakha Kaladze.
“Our goal stays the same: strengthen internal network, connect new generation sources to the grid and increase the potential of electricity flow to neighboring countries” – stated Sulkhan Zumburidze, Chairman of the Management Board of GSE. Implementation of this project increased reliability of the power system, enabled the improvement of power supply to East Georgia, mainly Tbilisi and Shida Kartli and supported electricity import-export.
