Robert Schuman High School students’ visit to GSE

On October 13, GSE hosted the students from Rober Schuman European School (program A-Z).

At first, the students visited GSE head office and National Control Centre (NCC). They viewed state of art equipped Control Panel which is responsible for the operative control of Georgian power system and has no analog in Caucasus region. The students were introduced to the basic principles of Dispatch Centre’s operation. They were given a lecture on power engineering in general and GSE’s role in the country’s energy development.

After visiting NCC, the students visited GSE Training Centre Polygon. Polygon is the best possible working environment which is very close to the real environment where substation personnel has to work. At polygon the students were introduced to the working specificity of the substation’s sub-components: power transformers, voltage and current transformers, circuit breakers and etc. In addition, they participated in the inspection process of voltage indicators at Safety Laboratory.

Due to the fact that energy sustainability is one of the major factors for the country’s economic strength, GSE has set priority to keep informed new generation of it.

In order to promote energy industry and our company in new generation such kind of meetings will take place at GSE in future as well.
