Technical operator of the Power System of Portugal Visited GSE
Joint meeting of GSE and Portuguese Power System Technical Operator representatives was held at GSE premises on April 12, 2016.
GSE and Portuguese Power System Technical Operator already have been cooperating for several years. The first stage of cooperation implied consultations, assistance in the preparatory works for developing the Ten Year Network Development Plan and reviewing issues related to power market support. As for the second stage of cooperation, GSE purchased Voloragua program from REN for hydro power station optimization and forecasting which will ease the process of generation planning and will make the system more flexible and safe. Voloragua will be initiated in GSE in the nearest future.
“Topics of discussion included the significant issues such as generation and consumption, electricity quality analysis and generation planning through Voloragua program. REN consultants shared their experience. We summarized the results of our cooperation and set future plans as well which implies involvement of Technical Operator of Portugal into regional projects” – said Sulkhan Zumburidze, Chairman of the Management Board of GSE.
