The German Development Bank KFW Management Group Members’ Visit Georgian State Electrosystem
Members of the Executive Board of KfW Development Bank and its subsidiary KfW DEG visited Georgian State Electrosystem.
Ucha Uchaneishvili, Chairmen of the Management Board of GSE showed the guests Akhaltsikhe-500 SS with HVDC converter station.
During the visit Mikheil Zibzibadze, GSE Head of Human Resources and Communication Department made a presentation on the Georgian energy sector, GSE development, planned projects and future vision.
Construction of the Akhaltsikhe-500 SS with the support of donor organizations, including KfW, was completed in 2013 within the framework of Black Sea Energy Transmission Network Project. Through the transmission infrastructure, Georgia has been able to export and transit electricity to Turkey, as well as through Turkey, to the Eastern and Central European and Asian markets.
