Visit of Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development to GSE
The Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development of The Federal Republic of Germany Svenja Schulze, members of Parliament, representatives of the Embassy of The Federal Republic of Germany and the Development Bank of KfW visited the head office of the Georgian State Electrosystem.
Issues related to energy security, investment policy, renewable energy and electricity market liberalization in the region were discussed at the meeting. The focus was on the ways of Georgia becoming a regional hub and achieving energy independence. During the visit, the guests visited the National Dispatch Center (NCC) of Georgian State Electrosystem and got acquainted with its operating principles. Georgian State Electrosystem implements large-scale energy projects, a significant part of which is carried out with the financial support of German government and through KfW.
The German delegation also expressed readiness to participate in future projects important for Georgia's energy stability and to provide future support.
