Georgian State Electrosystem at European Sustainable Energy Week

Within the framework of EUSEW-2023 European Sustainable Energy Week, a sustainable energy information day was held in Senaki municipality. Georgian State Electosystem joined the event and held an education tour at Menji 220 substation for eco-club students.

The youth got acquainted with the operation principles of one of the key substations of Georgia, which supplies electricity to the city of Poti and the municipalities of Senaki, Khobi, Abasha and Martvili. GSE representatives talked to the visitors about the large-scale energy projects that Georgian State Electrosystem implements anually, including the development and implementation of renewable energy sources. The conversation touched on the issuance of certificates of origin of electricity by GSE in 2023, that is aimed at encouraging the use of renewable energy.

EUSEW-2023 is the largest annual worldwide event dedicated to renewable energy sources and efficient use of energy. Georgian State Electrosystem will participate in similar events in the future, in order to raise public awareness on the measures aimed at the development, utilization and increase of energy efficiency of renewable energy sources.
