Signed Agreement Between Georgian State Electrosystem and AIB HUB

Giorgi Gigineishvili, Director General of Georgian State Electrosystem and Lucas Groembque and Lizbeth Sweeten, representatives of the Association of Issuing Bodies Guaranteeing the origin of European energy, AIB HUB, signed the observer member agreement.
By signing the above-mentioned agreement, GSE, as the authority issuing certificates of origin, has the opportunity to familiarize itself with the specifics of AIB HUB's work and to receive information about trade in certificates of origin throughout Europe.
As part of the observer status, AIB HUB members will share their experience with GSE - European certification bodies and hub experts.
GSE, as a Hub observer member, will be entitled to attend AIB HUB general meetings and scheme Group Meetings and also will have access to certain sections of the AIB HUB Platform.
At the beginning of 2023, for the first time in Georgia, Georgian State Electrosystem started issuing certificates of origin for electricity obtained from renewable energy.
The certificate of origin is an electronic document that provides the consumer with complete information about the amount of energy produced from renewable sources. It is used both to support the development of renewable energy sources and to encourage the use of renewable energy by energy suppliers and consumers.
