Georgian State Electrosystem Delegation at CIGRE International Symposium

The delegation of Georgian State Electrosystem, led by Director General Giorgi Gigineishvili and Board Members Giorgi Amuzashvili and Zviad Gachechiladze, participated in the Paris session of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE). GSE management, along with European system operators who are ENTSO-E members and other foreign colleagues, discussed the prospects for technical operation and development of modern power systems.
Director General of GSE Giorgi Gigineishvili attended a forum where, together with about 150 directorate representatives, discussions were held on current modern challenges and critical issues in the sector. Board Member and Chairman of CIGRE Georgian National Committee, Giorgi Amuzashvili, participated in the Administrative Council meeting and the organization's presidential elections, where he cast the vote of the Georgian National Committee.
Board Member Zviad Gachechiladze held meetings with consulting company CESI and other potential partners within the framework of the Black Sea Submarine Cable Project. These partners have significant experience in implementing similar projects.
The CIGRE International Symposium featured innovative products from nearly 500 companies and 1300 research papers. GSE delegates presented 4 research papers on the challenges of Georgia's power system and ways to address them. Notably, this year, for the first time, female engineers from GSE attended the session, resulting in the establishment of one of CIGRE's important directions in Georgia - "Women in Energy".
The CIGRE-Georgia National Committee was founded in 2018 on the initiative of Georgian State Electrosystem. Since then, GSE delegates have been actively collaborating with foreign colleagues and are involved in innovative research processes. The Georgian State Electrosystem committee is represented in 6 research committees and has participated in more than 10 working groups.
