Economic Forum

Members of the Board of Directors of Georgian State Electrosystem participated in a discussion organized by the "Economic Forum" - "Mechanisms for Promoting the Development of Renewable Energy."

Rusudan Shamugia, Giorgi Amuzashvili, Zviad Gachechiladze, and Davit Tetunashvili, together with other forum participants, discussed ongoing trends in Georgia's energy sector, decisions made toward strengthening energy security, the progress of major energy projects, including the Black Sea underwater cable, energy storage batteries, and prospects for "green hydrogen" development.

The discussion also covered changes in the settlement rules for grid-connected micro-capacity power plants and the distribution of excess electricity they feed into the grid; the transition from net metering to net billing system; group connection to the distribution grid and electricity distribution; and other relevant issues.

The event was moderated by Giorgi Abashishvili, founder and director of the Georgian Economic Forum and Business Insider Georgia. The discussion also included participation from GNERC Chairman Davit Narmania, Bank of Georgia General Director Archil Gachechiladze, Georgian Business Association Executive Director Levan Vepkhvadze, as well as representatives from public and private sectors.
