Meeting within the Framework of Energy Storage Battery Project

Rusudan Shamugia, Director of Project Management of Georgian State Electrosystem, held a working meeting within the framework of the energy storage battery project with representatives of companies interested in participating in the tender. Representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Mercados company also participated in the meeting.

The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format. Various issues related to the project were discussed. Meeting participants, together with employees of Georgian State Electrosystem, had the opportunity to visit the GSE-owned substation Ksani 500 to observe the location for energy storage battery installation and connection to the substation.

Energy storage batteries will play a significant role in the stability of Georgia's transmission system, ensuring increased integration limits for solar and wind power stations and reducing dependence on electricity imports.

The project aims to improve energy security and reduce Georgia's dependence on neighboring countries' network stability support.
