The Construction Cost of the Idliani Substation Reduced by GEL 5 Million
The Director General of Georgian State Electrosystem, Vano Zardiashvili, and Giorgi Mirtskhulava, Chairman of the Bemoni Partnership, signed an agreement on amendments to the contract concluded in 2023, according to which the construction cost of the 500 kV Idliani substation has been reduced, resulting in total savings of GEL 5 million from the contract value.
The project is being implemented in Svaneti, in the vicinity of the town of Idliani, and is financed by Georgian State Electrosystem. Construction works are being carried out by the Bemoni Partnership.
The Idliani 500 substation is unique in the region, as it is a fully enclosed facility, ensuring both technological safety and compliance with environmental standards. Upon completion of the project, it will be possible to fully integrate the hydropower plants currently under construction in the Svaneti region into the power grid.
Completion of the substation construction is planned for 2027.
