Signing of the Construction Contract for the Stori HPP – New Telavi Transmission Line
Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, Director General of Georgian State Electrosystem Vano Zardiashvili, and the founder of Stori LLC Vazha Tsigroshvili, visited the construction site of the Stori Hydropower Plant (Stori HPP) under development in Kakheti, as well as the construction area of the Stori HPP – New Telavi power transmission line.
As part of the visit, Director General of GSE Vano Zardiashvili and Barış Elbasıoğlu, representative of Mitaş Energy and Metal Construction Inc., signed an updated contract for the construction of the 110 kV Stori HPP – New Telavi transmission line. The initial cost of the project amounted to EUR 12.5 million; under the new agreement, the contract value has been reduced by USD 3 million.
The 110 kV Stori HPP – New Telavi transmission line will connect Stori HPP to the New Telavi substation, enabling the integration of approximately 47.6 MW of capacity into the transmission network.
Implementation of this infrastructure project in the Kakheti region will significantly increase the stability of the transmission network and improve the electricity transmission capacity of eastern Georgia. The project is being implemented within the framework of the Electricity Network Improvement Program (ENIP), with financial support from KfW Development Bank.
The event was attended by Infrastructure Minister Revaz Sokhadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Inga Pkhaladze, and Deputy State Representative in the Kakheti region Mamuka Burdiashvili.
