Meeting on the Urbnisi Substation Construction Project
The Director General of the Georgian State Electrosystem, Vano Zardiashvili, the Head of the Energy Policy and Investment Projects Department of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Alexandre Sokhadze, and members of the GSE Board of Directors met with representatives of companies interested in connecting to the grid within the framework of the Urbnisi substation construction project.
During the working meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the project’s implementation, including technical and organizational aspects. The discussion also covered the volume of connection requests and the steps required to ensure the efficient development of the infrastructure necessary for grid connection.
Based on the issues discussed at the meeting, a follow-up working session will be scheduled in the near future, where specific ways to ensure the swift and effective implementation of the Urbnisi substation construction project will be reviewed in detail.
The implementation of the Urbnisi substation project will be an important step in the development of the country’s electric power infrastructure. The construction of the new substation will help increase the transmission network’s capacity, improve system reliability, and facilitate the integration of new renewable energy facilities into the grid.
