Vano Zardiashvili Met with Representatives of the Business Sector
The Director General of the Georgian State Electrosystem, Vano Zardiashvili, met with representatives of renewable energy producing companies.
During the working meeting, discussions focused on ongoing reforms and other decisions in the energy sector initiated by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. These efforts aim to attract investment into the sector, regulate energy generation, and enhance the country’s energy security.
Together with representatives of the business sector, Vano Zardiashvili discussed an initiative that envisages the establishment of new rules for connecting generation facilities to the grid.
According to these rules, the processes underway at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Georgian State Electrosystem should be fully aligned, thereby defining a more flexible, security-oriented, and applicant-focused connection process. The initiative will be submitted for approval to the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission.
Taking into account the outcomes of the reforms, a realistic 10-year energy development plan will be developed. This represents a key objective both for the Georgian State Electrosystem and for the overall advancement of the energy sector.
