Visit of the World Bank to Georgian State Electrosystem
The Director General of Georgian State Electrosystem, Vano Zardiashvili, met with the World Bank’s South Caucasus Energy Program Coordinator, Joern Huenteler.
The parties discussed the progress of infrastructure projects financed by the World Bank, including the advancement of the Black Sea Submarine Cable project. They also reviewed the significance of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between GSE and the Romanian transmission system operator Transelectrica, as well as the activities to be implemented within its framework.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the strategic importance of the Black Sea Submarine Cable project for the development of both the country and the wider region.The participants also discussed the details of the planned seabed survey within the project framework and upcoming activities related to route detailing, environmental studies, and other key components.
World Bank representatives noted that the quality of infrastructure project implementation at Georgian State Electrosystem has significantly improved.
