Akhaltsikhe-Batumi OHL Works Underway

Ucha Uchaneishvili, Chairman of Management Board of Georgian State Electrosystem got introduced to the ongoing works on the transmission line connecting Akhaltsikhe-Batumi.

Akhaltsikhe-Batumi construction project involves construction of a 145km long 220 kV transmission line from Akhaltsikhe to Batumi SS. The project is implemented in two stages. Stage I, construction of 52km section of Batumi-Shuakhevi has already been completed. At present, 94km Akhaltsikhe-Shuakhevi section construction works are underway. The project is expected to be completed in 2021.

Implementation of the project will significantly improve reliability and quality of electricity supply in the south-west of Georgia. It will minimize power outages and help meet growing demand for electricity in the Adjara tourism zone.
