SEL Representatives’ Visit to Georgian State Electrosystem

Representatives of SEL Company visited Georgian State Electrosystem within the frames of the Emergency Automatics Renovation Project. The engineers of US leading companies, along with GSE staff, will renovate the emergency automation system within two months. Trainings will be held for GSE staff within the frames of the visit.

The construction of new substations and power transmission lines leads to changes in the electricity network topology; therefore, the risk assessment and system upgrade are required to prevent complete or partial system disturbance and to enhance network reliability and sustainability.

The emergency automation system has been introduced since 2011 to increase the sustainability of the power system of Georgia and the reliability of power export and import to/from neighboring countries. This is the fourth time that the emergency automation system is being expanded/upgraded.
