Conditions for electricity export

Electricity may be exported in the volume and during the period established by the Electricity (Capacity) Balance whereas in emergency situations, electricity may be exported without being included in the Electricity (Capacity) Balance. Electricity shall be exported in accordance with the provisions of Chapter IV1 of the Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules approved by Order No 77 of 30 August 2006 of the Minister of Energy of Georgia and Special Auction Rules for the New Cross-Border Transit (Interconnection) Line Transmission Capacity and Internal Limiting Resource Allocation/Reallocation. The main instruments of defining exporters and electricity to be exported thereby are to determine the volumes allowed for export and the capacity allowed for transit, and to distribute capacity of the new transmission line intended for cross-border transit (interconnection).
