Construction and Rehabilitation of 500 kV OHL Zekari, connecting Zestafoni and Akhaltsikhe
Project name: Black Sea Transmission Network (BSTN) Project (245.5 million).
Donor organizations: KfW, EBRD, EIB, EC NIF.
Contractor:KEC International Limited (India).
Transmission line length: 70 km.
Total price of the project ( loan): 59.6 million EUR (Together with Vardzia and Meskheti OHLs,, without co-financing, taxes).
Completion date: June, 2012.
Project outcomes:
- Provision of sustainability of the Georgian grid
- Through this transmission infrastructure, Georgia will be able to carry out the export or transit of electricity to Turkey, as well as to the markets of other Eastern and Central European and Asian countries through Turkey.
