Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Report - Updated According to the Stakeholder Feedback Received During the Disclosure Period

Georgian State Electrosystem JSC (GSE), with support of German Development Bank (KfW) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) , is implementing the Energy Network Improvement Program (ENIP), under scope of which the UK company SLR Consulting Limited has prepared the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of projects planned under this Program.

The Report has been prepared according to EBRD Environmental and Social Policy (2014) and the European Union Directive on Environmental Impact Assessment 2014/52/EU.

The ESIA has been elaborated for five separate projects, which will be implemented under Georgia Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP). The TYNDP is approved by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and is agreed with the Government of Georgia.

The TYNDP sets out the strategic need and importance of the proposed projects that are principally driven by the need to improve the resilience of the network and to connect a number of new energy generation projects.

The ESIA has been updated following stakeholder feedback received during the disclosure period. The ESIA documents will continue to be refined and updated as the project progresses.
